Christian Education

  • The Christian Education Program at Pilgrim-St. Luke's Church is full of opportunity and fun for children ages 4-13!
  • First, children participate in the Worship each Sunday with the church congregation. This enables them to develop the foundational knowledge and skills they need to fully live their lives as Christians.
  • Then, during each Sunday Worship, a special time is devoted to the children—a time called "The Children's Sermon." They may partake in activities such as hearing a story, seeing a demonstration, singing a song, and sharing in discussion about various Christian topics.
  • The video entitled How to Make a Palm Cross, made during one of "The Children's Sermons," shows one of the Christian Education members demonstrating to children how to take a palm leaf and weave it into a cross, while she is narrating the life of Jesus.
  • After this special time in Worship, children gather in the classrooms at church and attend Christian Education Class, led by Christian Education Program staff. In small groups, children participate in age-level lessons with activities such as story reading, creating crafts, singing songs, expressive writing, and group discussions.
  • The Christian Education Program for children follows "The Whole People of God" curriculum. The curriculum is very comprehensive and especially structured so that the same learning topics and themes flow through both the Sunday Worship and Class lessons each week.
  • Also, Nursery Care is available during Sunday Worship each week, for babies to children of age 3.
  • The only thing missing from this ministry is you and your children.  Join us!
